Multi Gyms

If you're fed up with waiting for individual weight machines to be free at your local gym, why not purchase a multi gym for home? I found the best thing about buying a multi gym was that I no longer have to wait in lineups to use a machine and, better yet, my home gym is always open!

It's a proven fact that people are more dedicated to exercising regularly when they have all the equipment they need at home. Now that I have my own home gym I don't have to commute to and from a fitness club which gives me an extra 40 minutes to dedicate to my workout. Also if I don't have time for a full workout session I can break my weight training up 15 minutes before work and 15 minutes after work in the convenience of my own home.

Multi gyms, also marketed as universal gyms or multi-purpose gyms, feature (at minimum) these four weight stations:

  • High pulley
  • Low pulley
  • Press station
  • Leg extension/leg curl

These 4 basic weight training set ups can accommodate up to 50 weight training exercises in one machine and in a minimal amount of floor space, including:

  • Upright/seated rows
  • Side cable pulls
  • Shoulder/neck shrugs
  • Triceps extensions
  • Biceps curls
  • Bench presses
  • Cable butterflies
  • Seated rows
  • Thigh extensions
  • Leg extensions
  • Chest and lat pull downs

Multi-station home gyms provide health club-quality strength training in the comfort of your home for between $1,500 and $3,000 online. And, as the name implies, "multi" gyms allow for more than one person to pump iron simultaneously in a minimum amount of space.
