Home Gyms
Before you get all psyched up reading this site and go out and buy yourself a home gym, do what I did and find out what you really like by trying out equipment in a fitness club beforehand. This will cost you less then you think.
I'll let you in on a little secret. When I first started working out I was a poor penniless student with little cash to buy food let alone to afford a gym membership. However, I did take advantage of free membership trial offers. Thanks to a few free months at some local gyms I was able to try out a variety of equipment and discover what I liked, so that I didn't end up buying some piece of worthless fitness equipment that would ultimately become a pricy clothing rack in my basement.
A home gym, or multi gym as they're often called, serves up a full strength training workout on one piece of equipment. The reason these weight training systems are often referred to as multi gyms is because they allow more then one person to use it simultaneously and they typically feature multiple weight stations including:
- High pulley
- Low pulley
- Press station
- Leg extension/leg curl
If you decide on a home gym you will have the luxury of being able to perform your entire weight training workout on one machine and for between $1,500 and $3,000 all in a minimal amount of designated space.
