Nuts

A great snack

Nuts have gotten a bad reputation. People are always saying that they’ve cut nuts out of their diets because they are high in calories and fat. However, what they don’t know is that nuts are jam-packed with protein, fiber and essential fatty acids as well. I’m referring to unsaturated fats, which help keep your hair shiny, your nails strong, your joints moving well, and your bad cholesterol low.

Lose Weight

The key to eating nuts is moderation. You only need a handful to feel satisfied. Incorporate them into your diet in the following ways:

  • Sprinkle a handful of chopped walnuts on your fruit salad and drizzle with fresh-squeezed orange juice and a pinch of cinnamon.
  • Throw some almonds and orange slices on top of a grilled chicken salad.
  • For a zip, add soy nuts and dried cranberries to plain yogurt.
  • Roll a fresh filet of sole in thinly sliced pecans.
